Company Profile
The wireframes below are designs for the Company Pages, where job seekers can learn more about a company listed on Built In. The previous design (scroll down to see Previous Design below) included a lot of flowing text. Site data showed that users were not staying engaged for very long on the previous design. The newer design, which recently launched in Austin, Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Los Angeles and New York, conveys much of the same information using material design and a card-based approach. Users who go to the new Company Page design (see Redesign) are 50% more likely to apply for jobs.
Redesign - Desktop
In the final design, color, pattern, photographic style and other treatments were explored. A panel for an Instagram feed was added, as well as newly designed panels for company perks and company technology icons. The measurement of the cards was refined to allow the panels to sort the cards for different screen widths. You can see designs for two more common screen widths, as well as a design for mobile devices if you scroll down this page.
Previous Design
Heuristic user testing and site data suggested that users were not very engaged with the company profiles. Google analytics revealed a high bounce rate, and click maps showed that users were often interested in the jobs and company site link only.
Company Page - Low Fidelity Wireframe
Material design approach was employed to create a card-based, flat design scheme. The name card at the top was made more compact, vertically, while the additional information about the company culture were distributed over a wider area above the fold. The "We're Hiring" call-to-action in the right rail would follow the user as they scrolled down the page. Information like employee interviews, company perks and a map of the office location help the user determine of the company is a good fit for them before they arrive at the jobs.
